Postnatal neurogenesis in the human brain

چکیده

Recently, a lot of data has been gathered which demonstrates neurogenesis in the brain adult humans. In genetics, findings have obtained that not only prove, but also elucidate molecular mechanisms neurogenesis. some publications, however, morphology disputes neuronal renewal adulthood. Therefore, this review presents modern achievements epigenetics, morphology, and physiology, confirm characterize postnatal detail. We suggest introduction genetic technologies into morphological studies will be starting point for integration these areas, complementing each other targeted therapy clinical practice. Numerous evidence presence humans using bromodeoxyuridine, carbon isotope 14C, 3H-thymidine, comparative analyses experimental from animals. Neuronal stem cells, represented by radial glia present subventricular subgranular zones human brain, are morphologically similar to neuroepithelial cells. They express marker proteins astrocytes, suggests proliferation neuroglia found adults can indicate regeneration neurons. To prove this, further required, with exact identification newly-formed specific markers, epigenetics. The methods facilitate accurate determination classification cells subpopulation study effects various agents on neurons brain.

Regulation of postnatal neurogenesis and brain angiogenesis by thyroid hormone

Thyroid hormone (TH), which is secreted by the thyroid gland, exerts significant effects on the central nervous system (CNS), especially during development, so that delayed treatment of perinatal hypothyroidism results in severe cognitive retardation. Continuous postnatal neurogenesis occurs throughout adulthood in the subventricular zone (SVZ) of the lateral ventricle wall and in the subgranul...

Postnatal neurogenesis in the kitten retina.

Postnatal neurogenesis in the kitten retina was studied using 3H-thymidine radioautography. Kittens were injected with 3H-thymidine at 1 day, 10 days, 3 weeks or 4 weeks after birth and allowed to survive until 14 weeks of age. Labeled neuronal nuclei were not found in the ganglion cell layer in any of the retinas, but they were seen in the other nuclear layers of the same retinas. In retinas f...

Neurogenesis in the Striatum of the Adult Human Brain

In most mammals, neurons are added throughout life in the hippocampus and olfactory bulb. One area where neuroblasts that give rise to adult-born neurons are generated is the lateral ventricle wall of the brain. We show, using histological and carbon-14 dating approaches, that in adult humans new neurons integrate in the striatum, which is adjacent to this neurogenic niche. The neuronal turnove...

Neurogenesis in postnatal mouse dorsal root ganglia.

Neurogenesis continues in various regions of the central nervous system (CNS) throughout life. As the mitogen basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) can proliferate neuronal precursors of CNS neurons in culture, and is also upregulated within adult dorsal root ganglia following axotomy, it is possible that the postnatal dorsal root ganglia contain bFGF-responsive neuronal precursors. We undertoo...

Application of Brdu in Studying Postnatal Neurogenesis

INTRODUCTION In the mammalian central nervous system (CNS), neurogenesis occurs mainly prenatally but continues in restricted regions during the postnatal life. It is intensive during the first two weeks after birth picking at P7-P9. Thereafter, neurogenesis is significantly diminished and remains longlife in the subventricular zone (SVZ) of the lateral ventricle and the subgranular zone (SGZ) ...
